Alfredo Naranjo and Friends
Alfredo Naranjo is a vibraphonist, composer, and arranger from Caracas, Venezuela. He began his musical studies early on at the Conservatorio de Música de la Orquesta Juvenil. After years of training, he joined the Orquesta Sinfónica Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho where he performed orchestral repertory as a percussionist. During this time Mr. Naranjo developed his interest in folkloric and Latin genres and focused on the vibraphone. In 1992 he traveled to New York on a scholarship from the Long Island University, attending the Jazz Music School in Harlem. He went on to play with important New York musicians, including Pete Yellin, Daniel Ponce, and Rolando Briceño. He returned to Venezuela to record his first CD Cosechando. A year later he recorded his second CD A través del tiempo, which receiveed good international reviews and was included in Latin Beat’s International Hit Parade. In 1998 he signed an exclusive contract with the Venezuelan label Latin World and recorded his third CD, Vibraciones de mi tierra, which included guest musicians Arturo Sandoval, Ed Calle, and Ensamble Gurrufío. In 2000 he receiveed the Casa del Artista Award as the Year’s Best Instrumentalist. During that time he became a faculty member at the Instituto Universitario de Estudios Musicales (IUDEM) in Caracas. Subsequently he recorded his fourth CD, Tributo a Joe Cuba, which took him on tour to Puerto Rico and the South of France and later became the soundtrack of the French movie Ferchaux, directed by Bernard Stora. Mr. Naranjo has also performed in concerts all over Venezuela, including the Water Brother Jazz Festival where he accompanied Al Jarreau, Tito Puente Jr., Ray Charles, and the Orquesta Aragón. He was also invited to participate as instrumentalist and arranger in the worldwide project Tocando Tierra. In addition, he has worked with world renowned musicians including Alex Acuña, Don Grusin, Abraham Laboriel, and Frank Quintero.

Jason Fraticelli
Jason Fraticelli is a Philadelphia based bassist. After studying at the New School University in New York City, he has had a very diverse career thus far touring all over the world and making music with some of the most talented and acclaimed artists today. He is primarily an upright bassist, but is also a performing and recording artist on guitar, drums, electric bass, and cuatro (a 10 stringed guitar from Puerto Rico). Some of the many musical endeavors that Jason has done over the years includes performing with artists such as Cyro Baptista, Billy Martin, Bobby McFerrin and The Bennevento Russo Duo. He has also been touring with jazz artist Melody Gardot and in the past toured while playing electric bass with Matisyahu. Today he leads his own Frank Zappa-esk style band under his own name while at the same time performing with Philadelphia and New York based groups such as As Human, Oudblues, Cell Theory, Ellipsis, and Mark Guiliana. Belmary Lorcas
Belmary Lorcas was born in Maracay, Venezuela. She began her musical training in Caracas, Venezuela with the National System of Children and Youth Orchestras of Venezuela. She is a graduate of Conservatory Simon Bolivar (BM) and Carnegie Mellon University (MM). Also she holds a Performance Residency Program certificate from Carnegie Mellon University. Mrs. Lorcas was member of “Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho” Symphony Orchestra , the string orchestra “Jovenes Arcos de Venezuela” and the “Simon Bolivar” Symphony Orchestra. Since July 2007 is an active guest artist of the Chamber Art Music festival Spain.Also, she has participated and is an active collaborator as faculty member teaching violin lessons, coaching string ensembles, performance festivals and workshops at the most important conservatories and orchestras in her native country. As a chamber musician, she has participated in recitals and music festivals in different venues in her native country as well as in the Philadelphia area. Since she moved to Philadelphia area she performs actively in different ensembles throughout the area. Mrs. Lorcas is a Board Member of the Greater Philadelphia Area Suzuki Association, is the Suzuki Coordinator of the Community Music School in Collegeville, PA , member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas and American String Teachers Association. Mrs. Lorcas is an active collaborator with "Casa de Venezuela" a non-profit organization for the Greater Philadelphia area. She has been performing with the "Ensemble Casa de Venezuela"since 2004. She is also an active ambassador of traditional Venezuelan music promoting and sharing her love for the folklore of her homeland.

Nicolas Real
Venezuelan flutist, conductor, composer, and teacher with a solid career in the classical and popular genres. Nicolas Real begun his career in the National Youth Orchestra System (El Sistema) of Venezuela. His registered experience leads him to become a member of the Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra and other musical chamber groups such are Miquirebo Flute Quartet of Venezuela, National Flute Orchestra of Venezuela, and the Real-Peña Duo. In 1991, he obtains the Bachelor Degree in Flute Performance from the University Institute of Musical Studies – IUDEM in Venezuela. In 2003, he obtains the Masters Degree in Flute Performance from Central Michigan University. He currently resides in the United States and is nearly concluding the Doctoral Degree in Musical Arts at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. In 2002, Nicolas Real won the first place in both the "Concerto Aria Competition, 2002" at Central Michigan University, and in the “Performers Competition” at The National Flute Convention, Washington DC 2002. The same year 2002, he debuted at the Hirshhorn Hall of the Smithsonian Institute in Washington D.C. In the composition arena, his pieces for flute and chamber instruments have been performed by important and distinguished chamber ensembles both in Venezuela and in the USA such as the Massachusetts Flute Choir, the Crescent Duo (flute and clarinet), the Venezuela National Flute Orchestra, and the Miquirebo flute Quartet of Venezuela. In a different facet, he has been guest conductor of various symphony and chamber groups in Venezuela and USA, demonstrating his mastery of the classical and popular repertoire interpretation. In 2004, Mr. Real produced his first CD as a soloist titled “Nicolas Real-Music from Eastern Venezuela” in which he explores the musical wealth of the eastern region of his beloved Venezuela. Currently, Nicolas Real is visiting some US cities, which are included in the “Nicolas Real, Sounds from Venezuela and Latin America, First US Tour 2010”. Mr. Real is the Principal flute at the Florida Lakes Symphony Orchestra, Founder-Conductor of Entrevoces Choir in Miami, Associate Director of the Amundos Children Choir, and a successful freelance soloist, teacher, and composer in the US and abroad.

Joe Truglio
Joe Truglio grew up in Long Island, New York and began learning the drums at age four. His father was a music teacher at the local public school and introduced him to jazz, big band, and rock music while still in elementary school. Joe went on to study at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA and graduated with a Bachelor's of Performance degree. While living in Philadelphia Joe has had the opportunity to perform extensively with jazz, rock, latin, hip hop, and R&B groups. He shared the stage with such artists as Robin Eubanks, Kurt Elling, John Fedchock, Tim Hagans, Gerald Veasley, Diane Monroe, and Slide Hampton. He has done spot dates on the east coast with artists including Grammy Award winner Dave Valentin, Elio Villafranca, Victor Prieto, Dave Allen, Christos Rafalides, Melody Gardot, and comedian/singer Joe Piscapo. Shortly after college Joe performed with the Subliminal Orphans as part of the Van's Warped Tour and did a number of shows opening for legendary hip hop group Cypress Hill. In 2006 he travelled to Shanghai, China for a three month residency at the House of Blues and Jazz performing with Philadelphia jazz/r&b artist Eric Wortham. As a recording artist Joe has collaborated with Grammy Award winning producer Dave Tozer and can be heard on American Idol finalist Elliot Yamin’s 2009 album “Fight for Love”. He has recently released an album of his own compositions with the Joe Truglio Trio entitled "Live", and is currently finishing up a new studio album due in October.

Roberto Quintero
Roberto Quintero, was born in Caracas, Venezuela, were he was surrounded by Afro-Venezuelan and Afro-Cuban rhythm and music. His father a respected composer, singer and percussionist in his native country, tutored and encourage Roberto on percussion through his adolescent years. Roberto comes from a long line of outstanding musicians which includes his uncle, Carlos Nene Quintero and cousin Luisito Quintero. Roberto studied at the conservatory of music in Caracas-Venezuela and the Orquesta Sinfonica Juvenil de Venezuela, and his percussion technique soon garnered attention from his colleagues . He joined the popular music ensembles Grupo Madera and Oscar D’leon, where he enjoyed widespread worldwide exposure. Besides being known for his skillful Conga work, Roberto also plays bongos drum sets, djembe, timbales and a wide variety of assorted percussion instruments. His technique has worked with, Dave Samuels, Dave Weckel , Steve Khan, Diane Schuur, Richard Bona, Gato Barbieri, Eddie Palmieri, Jack de Johnette, John Patitucci, Marc Anthony, Timbalaye, Celia Cruz and high profile music acts. Quintero is comfortable working with any genre of music from symphonic to Jazz, Latin Jazz, Latin House.
