Last Sunday, May 17th at the Bellevue State Park in Wilmington, Delaware, more than 120 people attended an event organized by Casa de Venezuela to celebrate Mother’s Day and the upcoming summer season.

Despite the unusually cold weather, the participants enjoyed the event, from noon to close to 7pm. This year the event was held as the first fundraiser event for the cultural program “Venezuelan Expressions 2009” to be held on October 11th, 2009 at the Freedom Theater in Philadelphia.

This was the fifth time that Casa de Venezuela celebrates this event that included the sale of food, drinks and desserts, in addition to raffle tickets for various items such as basket of beauty products, baskets of Venezuelan products (including Polar Beer), etc. The entertainments for adults were the tournaments on Domino and Bolas Criollas (Lawn Bowl), and other fun games.

The children enjoyed by playing at the near by playground, and also kept themselves busy by getting their faces painted by some volunteers, with cartons and superheroes themes.

A delegation of friends from the organization Accion Colombia joined members and friends of Casa de Venezuela in this celebration.

Please stay tuned for coming events and programs.
